Jaje Gina is a traditional Balinese sweet treat that’s often used in Hindu offerings and rituals. Back in the day, you could find this snack almost everywhere, but now it’s becoming rare as fewer people make it—mostly only the older generation still keeps the tradition alive.

Its use in ceremonial offerings (banten yadnya) comes from deep-rooted traditions passed down from ancestors. You’ll usually find jaje gina in red or white, and these colors carry special meaning—they symbolize joy and devotion, especially as a form of respect and love for one’s parents.
